Campus Activities and Student Clubs

What is Occupational 安全 and 健康?

Businesses employ specialists in occupational safety and health (OSH) to oversee the employer's program for protecting employees. Montana Tech’s program in Occupational 安全 and 健康 (OSH) leads to a Bachelor of Science (B.S.)学位. Nearly all graduates have rewarding careers as OSH professionals working in positions aimed at helping employees perform their work safely in a workplace free from 识别d hazards. Core functions for OSH professionals include developing, 实现, and evaluating health and safety programs.

The curriculum provides 学生 a sound technical foundation with courses in mathematics, 生物学, 化学, 和物理. Communication skills are strengthened through courses in writing and oral presentation. Of the 122 total required credit hours, 45 are in OSH. Most of these include experiences working in small groups, 写作作业, 演讲, 以及解决问题的能力. Laboratory courses conducted by OSH faculty use three laboratories, one is unique and dedicated to safety and ergonomics.
